Watermain and Five Mile Bay Reticulation

Watermain installation of the Tauhara Ridge Water Main along the East Taupō Arterial (ETA) – State Highway 1 (SH1) and installation of town water supply reticulation to Five Mile Bay.

Tauhara Ridge new water mains (PE DN180 to DN315PE100) needed to connect to the existing water reticulation in Tauhara Ridge Drive and run along the ETA for about 2.35 km to a new housing development. Our scope included installation of air valves, scour hydrants, and commissioning the falling main and connection into the existing network. We were responsible for traffic management including consultation with Waka Kotahi (NZ Transport Agency) to work alongside SH1. A variation to the contract extended the pipeline to 3.4km for which a time extension was granted.

Five Mile Bay Water Reticulation connected the community to the Taupō Town water supply for the first time. Our scope involved installation of 2.2km of DN125 Watermains and DN63 ridermain, various valves, hydrants and 108 property connections.
