Resource Planner (Cambridge)

Cambridge, Waikato
Full time

Camex Civil is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Resource Planner to join our Cambridge team.

In this role, you’ll coordinate machinery (plant) and fleet to help us deliver civil construction projects efficiently and on time. You’ll be at the heart of our operations, making sure the right equipment is in the right place at the right time, while keeping communication between site teams, drivers, and suppliers clear, smooth and seamless.

Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate, schedule, and track fleet and plant movements.
- Maintain accurate resource records and operational visibility.
- Communicate daily plans and act as the main contact for drivers, sites, and suppliers.
- Identify and resolve scheduling issues, delays, and resourcing conflicts.
- Raise purchase orders and liaise with suppliers.

What you'll bring:
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in resource planning or scheduling, dispatch, fleet coordination, or plant administration, preferably within the civil construction industry.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and administrative skills.
- Confident using computer systems for scheduling, tracking, and purchase orders.
- Strong communicator with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
- Practical, solutions-focused, and quick to learn.
- Positive, reliable, and self-motivated team player.
- Able to comfortably handle interruptions and last-minute changes, not flustered when the pressure is on.

This role is 50 hours per week, and requires a 6.30am start.  There is some flexibility later in the day for the right person. You’ll be joining a supportive team within a growing civil construction company, with opportunities for career growth and development as you build capability in the role.

Site Manager (Tauranga)

About the role:
As a Site Manager at Camex Civil, you will support the delivery of our projects in the Bay of Plenty area for local body civil infrastructure, civil commercial construction, civil subdivision development, civil works repairs & maintenance.

In this role you will be accountable for personnel and equipment management on assigned sites to ensure that the project objectives of safety, cost, quality and process are met. This involves:
- Managing day-to-day civil construction activities.
- Managing onsite health and safety processes and documentation.
- Supporting onsite cost management and quality assurance.
- Working on the tools alongside the team.

This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects across different regions and may at times require travel and occasional stays away from home.

What you'll bring:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil construction.
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and excavation works.
- Experience with advanced civil construction methodologies and RITS.
- Ability to read and follow construction plans.
- Minimum 1 year’s team management experience.
- Machinery operating skills (advantageous).

About the role:  
As a Drainlayer at Camex Civil, you will be part of a team delivering crucial projects across the Waikato & Bay of Plenty. These include local body infrastructure, commercial construction, and subdivision development. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that these projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standard.

You’ll work closely with your Site Manager to plan and execute daily tasks, manage job progress, and ensure that health and safety processes are always followed. In this role, you won’t just be following orders - you’ll have the chance to lead and guide others, and take pride in delivering outstanding work that makes a difference in your community.

What you'll bring:
We’re after a dedicated, team-oriented individual with a passion for civil construction.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- A proven track record in drainage or water reticulation projects.
- A full Class 1 Driver’s License.
- The ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings.
- Strong leadership skills and experience training or managing others.
- A great attitude and commitment to delivering quality results.

For those applying for more senior roles, we’re looking for:
- Leadership experience, including managing crews.
- The ability to plan and set out jobs.
- Experience operating plant and machinery.
- A completed NZ Apprenticeship or relevant qualification in Drainlaying or Pipeline Construction and Maintenance is preferred (but we’re also keen to help you get there if you’re working towards it!)
