ABOUT THE ROLE:

With Camex Civil, you will be part of a specialised team, supporting the delivery of our drainage / water reticulation works for local body infrastructure, commercial construction, and subdivision development projects.

Experienced Tradesmen will:

  • Lead a crew and support the training of apprentices.

  • Work closely with the Site Manager to plan and manage job progress, methodology and resource needs.

  • Interpret drawings and specifications, to ensure excellence in delivery.

  • Manage HS&E standards, and QA testing and record keeping.

Hours of Work:  Average of 50 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Saturday work is available, but not mandatory. 

WHAT YOU NEED:

About the Role:
As a Site Manager at Camex Civil, you will support the delivery of our projects in the Waikato area for local body Civil Infrastructure, Civil Commercial construction, Civil Subdivision Development, Civil works repairs & maintenance.

In this role you will be accountable for personnel and equipment management on assigned sites to ensure that the project objectives of safety, cost, quality and process are met. This involves:

  • Managing day-to-day civil construction activities.

  • Managing onsite health and safety processes and documentation.

  • Supporting onsite cost management and quality assurance.

  • Working on the tools alongside the team.

What you need:

  • A minimum of 5-years’ work experience in the civil construction industry.

  • Ability to read and follow construction plans and instructions.

  • Ability to operate heavy machinery when required.

  • A minimum of 1-year team management experience.

Civil Quantity Surveyor (Cambridge or Taupō)

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Working closely with our Project Managers across multiple key projects in the area, your analytical approach and focused skillset will be fundamental in ensuring accurate budgetary control on the assigned projects, through:

  • Constructing project-specific budgetary tools, including cost plans and productivity measures, based on the handover documentation from tender. 

  • Conducting regular site visits and participating in key client and progress review meetings.

  • Monitoring and evaluating engineering drawings and specifications, changes to designs or proposed methodology, as well as the data of works completed, to determine the effects on project costs.

  • Supporting cost negotiations with subcontractors and engineers.

  • Ensuring all progress claims and invoices are correctly processed and certified.

  • Travel within the Waikato Region is required. 

While taking ownership of your own set of assigned projects, you will always have the support of a fantastic team on hand, including our experienced Commercial Manager and skilled team members.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • A Level 6 Diploma or higher qualification in Quantity Surveying. At least 3 years' experience in the Civil Industry may substitute for the Qualification. 

  • A methodical approach, with an eye for detail and accuracy.

  • Full Class 1 Driver’s Licence.

  • Using suitable tools or machine attachments with control in moving, excavating, shaping and compacting earth and other materials. 

  • Conducting pre-operational checks and minor machine maintenance tasks.

  • Working with site crew to maintain safety and flow of work tasks, particularly when working near other machines, structures or services.

Hours of Work:  

  • Minimum of 30 hours per week, with ordinary hours up to 50 hours (Monday to Friday). 

  • Saturday work is available, but not mandatory.

Remuneration packages vary depending on skillset and experience. 

WHAT YOU NEED:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join us as the Group Commercial & Risk Manager, leading our group of companies commercial management. 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As the Commercial & Risk Manager, you will lead a group of companies, developing systems and process which manage those companies risks. 

  • Lead and manage our quantity surveyor teams as their direct line manager, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.

  • Leverage strong civil industry experience to develop and implement effective commercial strategies, driving revenue growth and profitability.

  • Utilize legal expertise to conduct thorough risk assessments and formulate strategies to mitigate potential risks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

  • Manage project profitability by overseeing financial aspects and implementing measures to optimize financial outcomes.

  • Conduct regular reviews of project performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to negotiate and execute contracts, ensuring favourable terms and conditions.
