Project Overview:

The Tauhara Ridge Watermain project involved the installation of a new water main along the East Taupō Arterial (ETA) - State Highway 1 (SH1) and the extension of the town water supply reticulation to Five Mile Bay.

Project Scope:

The project scope encompassed the installation of new watermains, ranging from PE DN180 to DN315PE100. These were designed to connect Tauhara Ridge Drive to the ETA, covering a distance of about 2.35km. The project also included the installation of air valves, scour hydrants, and the commissioning of the falling main, along with the connection to the existing water network. Comprehensive traffic management was employed, involving consultation with Waka Kotahi to coordinate the project along SH1. A contract variation extended the pipeline to 3.4km.

Community Benefits:

By extending the water network, this project ensured access to a reliable water supply for both existing and new developments, while supporting future growth.
