About the role:
In this role, you'll support the wider Camex Group across its four companies. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the development and continual improvement of Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) and project documentation.

- Supporting the investigation and management of incidents, near misses and environmental events, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.

What you'll bring:
This role is best suited to candidates with:
- A minimum of two years' relevant experience maintaining and implementing health and safety policies and procedures, in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 9001.
- A full Driver's Licence.
- Experience with Quality Control under ISO 9001 (a strong advantage).
- Site Safe, First Aid certification (preferred).
- Experience in the civil construction industry (preferred).

About the role:
As project manager, you'll take ownership of project delivery from start to finish, on time, in specification, and within agreed costs. This is a role for someone with intermediate to senior experience, ready to manage projects with a good degree of autonomy, leading engineers, site managers, and field staff, and acting as the key point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, schedules and design or methodology changes.
- Developing and managing construction programmes, including resourcing and scheduling.
- Leadership & day to day management reporting of on-site project staff & subcontractors.
- Managing cost control and the claims process with support from a quantity surveyor.
- Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships, including reporting and negotiations.
- Ensuring compliance with all industry regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements.
- Supporting the new business team in tendering functions such as price reviews, method and programme drafting.

What you'll bring:
- Minimum 5 years’ project management experience in civil infrastructure.
- Competent in Microsoft Project, able to develop, manage, and communicate detailed construction programmes, identify critical paths, and proactively manage programme risks and recovery plans.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, monthly claims, variations, and subcontractor management, with a track record of delivering within budget and margin.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Sound, timely decisions under pressure, assessing risk and implementing practical solutions to keep projects on programme and on budget.
- A proven leader who coaches and develops project engineers and site managers, delegates effectively, and builds a positive, safety- and quality-focused team culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (preferred).
- Full Class 1 Driver License.

Camex Civil is looking for a Project Engineer to take full ownership of quality assurance across our Bay of Plenty term maintenance contracts, while providing technical support and QA oversight across our wider BOP project portfolio. If you want a role where your QA discipline genuinely shapes project outcomes, not just ticks a box, this is it. 

About the role:
You'll take full ownership of QA and AWM/RAMM record-keeping for our BOP term maintenance contracts, leading the live implementation of Contract Quality Plans and ITPs, managing hold and witness points, and keeping claim-support evidence complete and on time. Alongside this, you'll provide QA support and practical onsite technical assistance across our wider BOP project portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading implementation of Contract Quality Plans (CQPs) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), including hold, witness and monitor point management and Engineer notifications.
- Owning AWM/RAMM records dispatch data, quantities, photos, dockets and test results ensuring claim-support evidence is accurate and submitted on time.
- Managing non-conformances end-to-end: recording, notifying the Engineer, driving correction with crews, and closing out via reinspection or retesting.
- Visiting BOP sites to verify work against specification and ITPs and providing practical technical support to site managers and foremen drawings, set out and levels, RFIs and methodology input.
- Coordinating hold point and testing requirements (NDM, plateau, proof roll, CBR, Benkelman) with laboratory and geotechnical providers.
- Building strong working relationships with the Engineer to Contract, council representatives and site teams.

What you'll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in civil engineering (BE, BEng Tech or NZDE), or equivalent demonstrated site and QA experience.
- 3+ years in civil construction or roading, with genuine hands-on QA exposure, not QA as an afterthought.
- Strong QA discipline across CQPs, ITPs, hold points, NCRs and testing records that would stand up to formal audit.
- Working knowledge of NZS 3910 and NZS 3917.
- AWM/RAMM experience (or a comparable asset/maintenance management system) is a strong advantage.
- Confidence on site and credibility with crews, you can identify a non-conformance and get it corrected without creating friction.
- A full, clean driver's licence.

About the role:
You'll operate a range of earthmoving plant and take on physical labour to keep the work front moving, covering plant operation, earthworks, drainage and finishing tasks within an assigned crew, often working alongside live traffic on rural roading projects.

Key responsibilities include:
- Operating a range of earthmoving plant, including excavator, dozer, grader, loader, rollers, water cart, and truck and trailer where licensed.
- Carrying out topsoil stripping, bulk earthworks, drainage trenching, benching, batter trimming and final trimming.
- Placing, spreading and trimming to line, level and crossfall from pegs, stringlines or machine control.
- Loading and coordinating trucks on import and cart-away operations.
- Conducting pre-operational checks and minor maintenance on assigned machinery and promptly reporting any defects.
- Working safely alongside live traffic and within the approved traffic management layout.

What you'll bring:
- A full Class 2 Driver's Licence with WTR endorsements.
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience in the civil construction industry.
- Competence with construction tools and heavy machinery, including an excavator; dozer and/or grader experience is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of working across different soil types and conditions.
- A hands-on approach and the physical capability to complete manual labouring tasks in a range of weather conditions.
- Site Safe Certification, slinging and lifting or First Aid certification are all advantageous.

- Supervising field teams and providing day-to-day leadership and direction to field staff.
- Coordinating labour, plant and materials with Resource Managers, and tracking progress against the master programme, including weekly look-ahead.
- Ensuring all ITP and QA hold points are met and maintaining accurate records for quality control and monthly claims certification.
- Leading site-level health and safety, including daily prestart, task analyses for excavations and works near live traffic, and subcontractor inductions.
- Undertaking setting out and survey control, and managing traffic on-site in coordination with STMS and TTM crews.
- Acting as the stakeholder interface for clients, engineers, residents, adjacent landowners and cultural monitors.

What you'll bring:
- A minimum of three years' experience in civil construction, with at least 1 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of project construction methodologies including roading, drainage, civil siteworks and subdivisions including earthworks.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with a high level of safety awareness.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings and cross sections, and comfort working with levels and site set-out.
- Training in risk management, environmental compliance or leadership is an advantage.
- A full, clean driver's licence.
