About the role:
In this role, you'll support the wider Camex Group across its four companies. Working alongside our Health, Safety & Environmental Manager, you'll provide practical, on-the-ground support across our sites, from incident investigation to documentation development and engagement with our operational teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the development and continual improvement of Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) and project documentation.
- Conducting field assurance activities focused on critical risk verification.
- Inducting new employees and supporting ongoing H&S training across the business.
- Conducting regular inspections and audits of workspaces.
- Supporting the investigation and management of incidents, near misses and environmental events, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Developing Erosion and Sediment Control Plans and supporting environmental compliance across our sites.
What you'll bring:
This role is best suited to candidates with:
- A minimum of two years' relevant experience maintaining and implementing health and safety policies and procedures, in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 9001.
- A full Driver's Licence.
- Experience with Quality Control under ISO 9001 (a strong advantage).
- Site Safe, First Aid certification (preferred).
- Experience in the civil construction industry (preferred).
- A practical, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to challenge unsafe behaviour constructively.

Project Manager (Cambridge)
Ready to take ownership of civil construction projects that shape our communities?
We're looking for a project manager to join our team at Camex Civil in Cambridge, a full-time, permanent role bringing financial control, client leadership, and hands-on project delivery.

About the role:
As project manager, you'll take ownership of project delivery from start to finish, on time, in specification, and within agreed costs. This is a role for someone with intermediate to senior experience, ready to manage projects with a good degree of autonomy, leading engineers, site managers, and field staff, and acting as the key point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, schedules and design or methodology changes.
- Developing and managing construction programmes, including resourcing and scheduling.
- Leadership & day to day management reporting of on-site project staff & subcontractors.
- Managing cost control and the claims process with support from a quantity surveyor.
- Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships, including reporting and negotiations.
- Ensuring compliance with all industry regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements.
- Supporting the new business team in tendering functions such as price reviews, method and programme drafting.
What you'll bring:
- Minimum 5 years’ project management experience in civil infrastructure.
- Competent in Microsoft Project, able to develop, manage, and communicate detailed construction programmes, identify critical paths, and proactively manage programme risks and recovery plans.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, monthly claims, variations, and subcontractor management, with a track record of delivering within budget and margin.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Sound, timely decisions under pressure, assessing risk and implementing practical solutions to keep projects on programme and on budget.
- A proven leader who coaches and develops project engineers and site managers, delegates effectively, and builds a positive, safety- and quality-focused team culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (preferred).
- Full Class 1 Driver License.

As a Certifying Drainlayer at Camex Civil, you will be part of a team delivering crucial projects across the Waikato. Truck Driver - Class 5 (Cambridge)

About the role:
With Camex Civil, you will be part of an expert team, supporting the delivery of our works for local body infrastructure, commercial construction and subdivision development projects (to see more about our standout projects, visit camexcivil.co.nz).
You will be required to driver our Class 5 truck and support project delivery with other machinery operation.
- Operate the heavy vehicle on project sites to support construction works.
- Support the loading and unloading of transported materials.
- Conducting pre-operational checks and minor machine maintenance tasks.
- Working with site crew to maintain safety and flow of work tasks, particularly when working near other machines, structures or services.
Hours of work:
- Minimum of 30 hours per week, with ordinary hours up to 50 hours (Monday to Friday).
Remuneration packages vary depending on skillset and experience.
What you'll bring:

Maintenance Grader Operator (Tauranga)

About the role:
As our Maintenance Grader Operator, you'll operate a motor grader to carry out routine maintenance grading, shaping, and drainage clearing on unsealed rural roads. You'll take pride in leaving every road better than you found it, graded to camber and shape spec, free of potholes and corrugations, with drains and culvert inlets clear and working as they should.
What you'll bring:
- A Class 4 licence (as applicable), with grader experience.
- Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) unit or equivalent grader competency.
- A solid understanding of unsealed road maintenance standards and drainage principles.
- STMS certification is advantageous, but not essential.
- A safety-first mindset and a proactive approach to keeping rural roads in top condition.

- Construct and upgrade reticulation systems for residential subdivisions, commercial developments, and public infrastructure projects.
